My name is Veronica Perez, and I'm the founder of Beauty Above Most, a house of permanent makeup in downtown Chicago and the Western Suburbs.

I pridefully carry my heritage as a first-generation immigrant from Durango, Mexico. With over 10 certifications from esteemed artists in the Permanent Makeup industry, my dedication and passion for this industry extend far beyond the surface. I am fluent in Spanish and strive to foster a nurturing environment that encourages open dialogue and empowerment during each session. The most fulfilling aspect of my work lies in the connections I form with my clients, their unique narratives, and the support I provide beyond the realm of permanent makeup.

My expertise lies in the Microshading technique, which allows me to skillfully craft various eyebrow styles such as ombre, powder, combination, nano brows, and brow corrections. Additionally, I specialize in lip blushing, using the microshading method to create stunning natural results.

I adopt a holistic perspective regarding my craft which involves considering all facets of my clients' lives. This entails examining my clients' lifestyle, skin type, daily skin regimen, and desired maintenance. What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to prioritizing my clients' needs and desires, no matter what permanent makeup style is trending at the time. I customize a look for every client to achieve the longest and most flattering results.

The inner fire that fuels my passion stems from the lineage of strong women in my family who preceded me. This is the strength that carries me through life's challenges. The culmination of life experiences and the knowledge I've gained along my journey helped me discover that helping women is my life's purpose. I enjoy the process of helping women feel and look their best through permanent makeup. I also like to provide resources to women who have endured hardships, which brings me great joy.

As my client, you can anticipate a relaxing, inviting, uplifting atmosphere, fostering a sense of positivity and inspiration. I truly believe this is merely the beginning for me, and my journey of making a difference will extend far beyond this point. Moreover, I am thrilled to have the privilege of being invited by Tony Arce as a guest on The Faces of Chicago Business and now as a host for The Faces of Community and Business, particularly considering that my business journey spans just over two years. 

The intention behind this project is to tell the stories of women, aiming to provide inspiration and guidance to both our communities and women who share similar experiences. Many enjoy discussing triumph and success, yet we frequently overlook the underlying struggle that propels them. It's crucial to acknowledge the struggles that serve as fuel along the way. I aim to empower women from every walk of life, ensuring they understand their dreams can be achieved regardless of their circumstances.
